Meetfree ("we," "us," or "our") is the Data Controller under GDPR and the Bulgarian Law on Personal Data Protection (LPDP). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our mobile app ("Meetfree" or "Mobile App") and website (collectively, the "Company"). By using the Company, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Data We Collect
We collect personal data depending on your interaction with the Company, including:
Account Details: Name, first name, year of birth, gender, marital status, country of origin, email address, T&C acceptance, password, and other related information.
Questionnaire Data: Information collected from quizzes or surveys.
Location Data: Our app requires access to your location to function properly. We collect and use this information to provide and improve location-based features, such as giving directions to meetup venues. Your location is collected only with your explicit consent, which you grant when enabling location services within the app. You can revoke this consent at any time via your device settings; however, without location access, key features of the app will not be available. We do not share your precise location with third parties, except as required to provide the app’s core functionality. All location data is handled in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR.
Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, language, pages viewed, session duration, and search history.
Interaction Data: Quiz responses (including identity, personality, and lifestyle information) for matching users, as well as log files and app usage statistics.
Trackers: Functional and analytics trackers
Chat History: Records of any in-app conversations or messages.
Cookies: Cookies are used on our website to enhance your experience, analyze site traffic, and improve our services. By continuing to browse the site, you consent to the use of cookies. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Communications: Any communication exchanged between the user and the company.
Security & Logs: IP addresses, failed login attempts, and other security-related events.
2. How We Collect Your Data
Directly: when you create an account, complete quizzes, or contact us.
Automatically: app logs, analytics trackers and cookies.
3. Purposes & Retention
Account Details: for account management and resolving potential disputes. This information is retained for as long as your account remains active. If your account becomes inactive, it is deleted after 1 year, while proof of T&C acceptance is retained for 5 years to comply with legal requirements.
Questionnaire and Interaction Data: to improve our matching system and overall service quality. This data is kept during active use of the app and then anonymized and retained for 2 years for analytics and service improvement.
Location Data: to provide and enhance location-based features of the app. Location data is processed only while you actively use these functions and is deleted immediately if you revoke consent through your device settings.
Usage Data: support analytics and service optimization. This information is retained during active use and then anonymized and kept for 2 years to improve the app’s performance.
Trackers: ensure website functionality and enhance user experience. Trackers are retained for up to 12 months.
Chat History: for operational or complaint-handling reasons. History are retained for the duration of the active account, and delete it 6–12 months after account inactivity, unless the user reports a safety or harassment issue in which case retain only the relevant messages for up to 5 years for dispute resolution.
Cookies: Our website uses cookies with varying retention periods, depending on their purpose.
Some cookies expire at the end of your browsing session, while others may remain on your device for up to approximately 8 monthsCommunication Data: manage your relationship with us and send relevant communications. This data is retained during your relationship with us and for 1 additional year, unless you opt out earlier.
Security & Logs: for fraud prevention, platform security, and legal compliance. This information is retained for 1 year, unless a longer period is necessary for an active investigation.
4. Who Processes Your Data
Your data is processed by Meetfree personnel, subcontractors, partners providing services for the app, and partner venues for arranging meetups (limited to necessary data).
All processors comply with GDPR.
5. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational measures: encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (server-level encryption), restricted access to authorized personnel, logging of access, antivirus, firewalls, and secure server hosting. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for ensuring that any device used to access the app is secure

Under GDPR and LPDP, you can:

Erase your data
Restrict processing
Object to processing, including profiling for marketing
Request data portability
Withdraw consent at any time
Requests can be submitted via email at info@meetfree.co and will be addressed within 1 month, extendable by 2 months for complex cases.
7. Consent & Withdrawal
By using the Company, you consent to collection and processing of your data. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
8. Use of Personal Attributes
Users may be photographed or filmed at meetups. By accepting the terms and conditions, you grant Meetfree permission to use your image, name, or voice for promotional purposes. Consent may be revoked at any time by contacting Meetfree.
9. Messaging Service
Messages between meetup participants are user-generated and not moderated by Meetfree. Users are responsible for content shared via messaging.
10. Third-Party Links
The Company may include links to third-party websites or services. Meetfree is not responsible for their privacy practices.
11. Policy Updates
This Policy may be updated to comply with changes in law or app functionality. Updates will be posted in the app and on the website.
